March 25, 2006 2006 FIRST CITIZENS NEUSE CUP Come join the fleet as BSC hosts the “First Citizens Cup” on March 25th. This is a long Neuse River race for the PHRF sailors usually down to #1 Adams Creek and back. Accommodations for shortening the course due to weather conditions will be in place. This is traditionally a great race as the wind “usually” blows this time of year on the Neuse. Open to all mono-hull sailboats 21 feet or longer, with a current NC PHRF rating certificate. To keep the PHRF numbers workable, classes will be separated at PHRF ratings of 100 and 200. 1st, 2nd , & 3rd place trophies will be awarded in Spinnaker, Non-spinnaker, and Cruising classes, A, B, etc. (Dependant upon the number in each class). The “Over-All” First Citizens Cups, 1st, 2nd, & 3rd, will be awarded to the 3 most competitive boats across “all” classes as determined by the Race Committee. We are adding a “Cruising Class” for those boats with roller furling, standard sails, or specifically “cruisers”. This will allow you “Cruisers” to participate and race with your “peers”. The Cruising course will be a somewhat shorter course to ensure all boats finishing within the time limit. Tickets for a Chicken & BBQ Dinner By Moores BBQ will be available with registration while they last. NO PETS PLEASE SCHEDULE: 7:00 – 8:00am Registration, coffee, donuts. 8:30am Skippers meeting. 10:00am First class flag. 6:00pm BBQ & Chicken Dinner. 7:00pm Awards.
If you can’t race, come join in with the Race Committee and help out where needed.
